2021 Ford F-250 Engine Specs

F-250 Engines and Performance

The F-250 comes with a 6.2-liter gasoline-powered V8 that produces 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft torque paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The first engine upgrade is an available 7.3-liter gasoline-powered V8 engine that produces 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The range-topping engine is a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 that produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Properly equipped, the Ford F-250 have a conventional towing capacity of 20,000 pounds. Several features are available to enhance towing, such as the available Trailer Tow High Capacity package, which includes a 360-degree camera for a top-down view and an upgraded axle. Another available feature is trailer backup assist, which uses a knob steering controller that makes reversing with the trailer easier.

The F-250 is excellent off-road on its own, but you can opt for the available FX4 Off-Road package or the Tremor Off-Road package for features like skid plates, hill descent control, an upgraded suspension, and rock and trail crawl modes.


F-250 Interior

The F-250 comes in regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab configurations with a 6.8-foot or 8.2-foot bed. Depending on the configuration, the payload capacity reaches a maximum of 4,260 pounds.

Inside, the F-250 can be outfitted as a purpose-built work model or a luxury truck. The crew cab has the roomiest interior of the bunch, but all three cab options have cushioned seats, ample headroom and legroom, and options for vinyl, cloth, or leather upholstery. You can also get available features like premium two-tone leather upholstery, a suede headliner, real wood interior accents, a heated steering wheel, and heated, massaging, and ventilated front seats.


F-250 Technology

Numerous features are available for entertainment and convenience. The FordPass™ Connect system, which offers remote services and onboard Wi-Fi, is included for all models. The SYNC® 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration is available, which offers options for streaming music and connecting to your phone’s apps and features. Optional features include additional USB ports, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and an 8-inch instrument cluster screen.

As for safety, you can add available blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a feature that alerts you to vehicles in your path when changing lanes, and automatic emergency braking, which applies the brakes automatically in the event of a possible collision. Adaptive cruise control, a feature that maintains a set distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead, is also available.
